Flip Ultra

The Flip Ultra is about the same thickness as the standard model, but it's slightly narrower, making it easier to handle. Like the Original, the Flip Ultra runs on AA batteries that give you around 2 hours of recording time on a standard set of alkaline batteries (5 hours on lithium). There is an upside and a downside to this, the obvious downside is the energy (and environmental) costs of using expendable batteries. The upside is that you can quickly re-use your Flip without having to wait for it to recharge. Keep this in mind when deciding which flip is best for you. You can always use rechargeable batteries in the Ultra and save on energy costs as well.

The Flip Ultra includes a threaded mount for tripods (just like the Mino) and weighs in slightly heavier at just around 5 ounces. A 1.5" transreflective LCD screen also comes standard on the Ultra model, allowing you to see the LCD in both bright sunlight and dimly lit situations. The Flip Ultra is available in several color schemes including black on silver, white on silver, white on pink, white on orange and white on green.
